About Me.
Hello! My name is Ka Yee Meck – a highly experienced and chartered translator offering professional Chinese-to-English translation services. I specialise in translating official documents such as academic certificates, birth and marriage certificates, and bank statements. I also have extensive experience translating sensitive content including whistleblower reports and private messages for court proceedings – materials that require human expertise and discretion, not CAT tools.
As a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, I provide CERTIFIED translations suitable for immigration, legal, and official use.
I also offer English-to-Chinese translation, with particular expertise in the art and fashion sectors.
My Background.
I was born in Shanghai, grew up in Hong Kong and London, and have lived in the UK since 2003. With a trilingual background in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, I am among the few translators who can claim full native-level proficiency in both English and Chinese.
After graduating from the University of Cambridge with an undergraduate degree in Art History, I have continuously endeavoured to enhance my skills. I earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from SOAS, a Level 3 Community Interpreting qualification (Mandarin and English), and a Diploma in Translation (translating from Chinese to English). This prestigious qualification, equivalent to a master’s level, is recognised as the gold standard in the UK’s translation industry.
Fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, I am equally confident working with Simplified and Traditional Chinese. My unique background and professional experience have given me an exceptional command of both Chinese and English. I can understand the source text in either language with great accuracy and translate it into clear, precise, and culturally appropriate English or Chinese copy.

Official documents, including academic certificates, marriage certificates, birth certificates and bank statements. I can provide CERTIFIED TRANSLATIONS of such documents. I have translated over a thousand academic certificates for ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) purposes. This in-depth experience means that I am extremely familiar with ECFMG's requirements and am able to provide translations that will be approved by ECFMG. I will make as many amendments as required for ECFMG approval.

This book has sold thousands of copies on Amazon, helping families around the world.
